Mother India-Dining In Launches Taylor & Shroff in Glasgow
February 2, 2010
A cold night in Glasgow did not deter the hearty curry lovers of this fair city.
Dining In is the newest addition to the excellent range of restaurants and cafe’s established by Monir Mohammed. Attached to the Mother India Cafe and opposite Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery in the trendy West End of the city. Ambient lighting, comfortable and atmospheric interior with the addition of their Mother India take-away deli counter offered the perfect venue for the Glasgow and the Scottish Launch of Taylor & Shroff.
In attendance were some of Glasgow’s Indian Dining “Royalty”, obviously Monir Mohammed of Mother India, Balbir of his namesake’s chain of 4 superb restaurants, Nasreen Aksi the Director of the Ashoka Group (Harlequin Leisure), as well as Glasgow’s very own Tom Shields, Colin Clydesdale from Stravegan Restaurant and Alan Chambers from William Morton, Beth Forsyth of the Peebles Media Group and a hand-picked selection of die-hard curry lovers.
Monir had prepared a range of tapas style plated canapes that simply did not stop flowing, the Taylor & Shroff Red and White were poured over ice and served with the first wave of nibbles. As the nibbles grew larger, more spicy so we poured over ice the next two in the range, namely the Taylor & Shroff Apricot and Cherry Wine. With the last dish we poured the Ginger Wine of the range, the strongest flavour but was a definite favourite of the then applauding guests.
Much was consumed and it is only a matter of time before we are back up in Glasgow discussing the wines with Nasreen and possibly Balbir as well. Glasgow is a very special city and never fails to deliver.
For all interested in the wines please contact Carr Taylor Vineyards on 01424 752 501 or contact me directly. Agency distribution queries, single restaurant drops etc etc……
